I'm not so sure that's true. They are likely to tell you to self-refer for counselling with LifeLink or the Tom Allen Centre, etc. Getting an appointment with an actual psychiatrist as oppose to a counselor is much more difficult, and I think the waiting lists are extremely long.
The best thing to do is pay for someone privately, and I assumed it's a personal recommendation for such a person that the OP is looking for? |
