Because we do have a go at them if their budgeting is shite, or if they don't achieve ["Value for Money"](https://www.nao.org.uk/successful-commissioning/general-principles/value-for-money/assessing-value-for-money/) which is a specific thing we audit. I literally do not work in or for the public sector. I work for a private accounting firm. I have absolutely no reason to be a "sycophant" for them.
