I remember reading somewhere that that liquid cheese stuff isn't technically cheese, it's a "cheese product". Same idea as how those wee boxes of juice you get for kids are called "fruit juice drinks" because they're not actually fruit juice, or at least not enough fruit juice to be called "fruit juice".
