| Body | Looked up the phrase nanny rooney on line to see what it rhymed with (loony apparently) and apparently its actually Annie Rooney and folk where just mishearing an annie as a nanny.
But my parents, grandparents, aunties and all that definitely said things like 'a wee nanny rooney' that couldn't have been annie.
Were they wrong the whole time or is that old forum post just bollocks?
Edit: also just found out my dad was using Gregory Pecks for specs wrongly the whole time and its actually neck. The worlds turned upside down. |
