I've seen a couple of posts like this on here but both are from a few years ago so I can't comment on them anymore. Basically i'm 27 and have never skated before, but always fancied it. No idea why, but i've decided now is the time and i've bought a wee cruiser board to try and just get the hang of rolling about. My big issue is finding quiet spots to practise where there are no/very few people about as I do feel like a bit of an idiot when i'm out on my own struggling to just stand on the thing. So basically i'm wondering if anyone knows of some quiet-ish spots that are good for practising? Is anyone else in the same boat i.e. beginner / older beginner fancy looking like idiots together? Or anyone who actually knows what they are doing fancy showing me some stuff? And in general any advice on getting started, skating in and around town etc? Cheers !
