Flooding of homes and businesses could happen quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds. Fast flowing or deep floodwater is possible, causing a danger to life. Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services. Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures. Some communities might become cut off if roads flood. Power cuts might occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost. **Travel** Due to a landslip between Glenfinnan and Lochailort the line is blocked. Disruption is expected until 23:59 13/07. Train services between Queen Street and Mallaig will be terminated at Fort William. All stations between Fort William and Mallaig will not be served. Option 1 - Check if a rail journey is currently possible.. * Use the National Rail Enquiries real-time journey planner to check if you can continue your journey by rail. * If you have had to drive to another station your ticket will be valid to collect your car on your return journey. Speak to a member of staff to validate your ticket. Option 2 - Local Buses. * We have not arranged for your rail tickets to be accepted on local bus routes as yet. We will monitor this situation and request ticket acceptance if it is needed. Option 3 - Rail Replacement Transport. If you are a Key worker affected by this disruption, please contact us by using the station help point or via twitter for further information. Option 4 - Consider travelling later. You might wish to consider postponing your journey until our service's return to normal. * Engineering staff have identified 200m of damage to the track. * The cause of the damage has been confirmed as a watercourse that has burst its banks. * Our staff have now carried out more detailed inspections of the area and have reported due to the amount of work required to repair the damage caused it is estimated that the line will reopen on the 13th July.
