TitleAnother listed building in danger, this time at the New Development at Victoria Hospital

According to the attached tweet it looks as though Sanctuary Housing have applied for the demolition of another listed part of the old Viccy Hospital as part of their plans. Worth noting that they won't be doing anything with this area but rather leaving it empty for 'future developments'

Pre covid, my morning commute would take me past the viccy every morning and I haven't seen anyone on site for around a year, which I thought was pretty strange considering the size of the project and the publicity surrounding it. Anyone with a better grasp of that industry than me able to suggest why they might just take people off site and put a stop to works?

Interestingly, Paul Sweeneys tweets seems to suggest that some listed parts of the hospital have already been demolished in error as they were thought to be 'unlisted' which is absolutely outrageous if true.

It really doesn't inspire much confidence in the council and does nothing but give further credence to the suggestion that these developers are often given carte blanche to do what they want with little thought for the impact, both historical and going forward.
