TitleRidiculous price for pets

What is going on with the absolute ridiculous price of dogs/cats lately? In December I was looking to get a dog and the prices were as low as £250 for a Border Collie. Now, the same seller who was selling his pups for £250 7 months ago is now asking £1500 for puppies coming from the same dog parents. WTF? And the same goes for cats. Cheapest kitten is £350. Same type of cat goes for £20 in England if you're willing to travel.

Why these prices in Scotland(Glasgow)? And is there anyone out there who's cat had a litter and wants to sell them for a reasonable price?

For those saying that adoption is best, I agree with you, but I enquired at all Glasgow cat adoptions places. They have no kittens and won't have any for a long time( there's also a waiting list for adoptions which is now closed )...
