| Body | I'm from Canada and studied abroad in Glasgow a couple years ago and I loved the city so much I've decided to get a work permit and move back!
I never felt unsafe by any means, but I almost exclusively stayed in the west end/finnieston/merchant city areas.
I've always heard from the english & irish that glasgow is rough so i'm a bit worried about going outside of the areas that i'm used to. I do want to expand outside of west end though because i know the city has so much more to offer i just have NO CLUE where to look.
I've done some googling, it looks like dennistoun in the east end might be good. I've also heard about shawlands but in all honestly, I think i'd be scared walking home alone at night as a woman in the southside (hope that's not too offensive i've just had so many people scaring me!)
If anyone can help suggest some cool areas to look into that would be really helpful. I'm 22 and looking for a neighbourhood that has cool bars, vintage shops and coffee shops (or at least is close to an area that does). |
