Body | I've been with Scottish power since I moved into my flat last August. They ONLY supply electricity for me. Not heating and hot water. No gas.
I'm a single person who lives alone and works from home 2-3 days per week.
I've just received an email saying they're upping my direct debit from £45 per month to £60 per month as I'm 200 in credit to them.
I should've checked this much sooner, but I don't see how my energy bills are so high. The only large appliances that use leccy are my washing machine, fridge, electric shower and laptop. I don't use anything else.
I tried to dispute the fact that I cannot possibly be using £60 a month as a single person in a small 1 bedroom flat, but they weren't having it. They've said as I have a smart meter this is definitely accurate.
I'd rather just switch away from them but I can't do so as I have £200 debit with them and it needs paid before switching. Any tips on dealing with this? |
