TitleIncreased political polarisation?

I know there have been deep held divisions in Glasgow forever but is anyone else noticing an almost American style rise in the radical polarisation and division in the last year or so? I feel like this an unwelcome export in how political discourse is done and entrenching via social media. The guy wandering Govanhill with borderline Qanon level conspiracies and all of his now tens of thousands of followers has just really highlighted this the last few weeks. Is this just a result of lockdown boredom or we also headed towards some kind of low information, populist, shit show as well?
