TitleChess boards in Glasgow parks/public spaces?

Is this a thing? Like alot of people I have been getting a bit into chess recently and was thinking how great it would be to play chess with people in ie. Kelvingrove or the Botanics. Many parks in NYC have such chess boards and they serve as a focal point for the local community. Could such a culture be replicated across parks and public spaces in Glasgow? I doubt it would cost a significant amount of money to install.
