Hi all, I know this is a boring post, but I've got a council tax problem.

We moved home from one Glasgow address to another in November - The old flat was vacant until the 18th December, when the new owners moved in. I did the moving house form on [https://youraccount.glasgow.gov.uk/](https://youraccount.glasgow.gov.uk/), got the email receipt saying so. It was a change in bands, so I was expecting my wife and I to change from monthly payments of £122 to £180 (approx)

On the 4th of January, I noticed the council tax payment went through as the normal amount - £122. Figured just wait until the system updates, then I'll pay a little more on the first updated payment.

Well today, my wife and I **each** get a letter saying we are in arrears and owe £180, must be paid within 7 days or "you will lose the right to pay by installments and will be required to pay £539.35 by 27.0.2021".

I go on [https://youraccount.glasgow.gov.uk/](https://youraccount.glasgow.gov.uk/) and see my old address is still there. I call the city council and it takes 5 minutes of automated responses and numpad selections to be told that the phone system is down due to Covid, and to try online webchat.

I really need to speak to someone about this urgently, rather than submit a form that gets seen in 2 weeks. The automated phone message mentioned a chat service, but all I can find is a [privacy statement for a service that I can't see anywhere else](https://www.glasgow.gov.uk/webchat).

This is kinda urgent because we're being double charged and can't afford to miss the payment and owe more than a grand by the 27th between us - I'd rather not pay the double £180 just now to buy time (I suspect claiming that back will be a bastard), but I might have to so there's time for a written enquiry to feed through the system.

Anyone got a secret number or email address that gets a fast response? Or know where this mythical Livechat lives?
