TitleLooking for a decent mountain bike mechanic!!!

I have had it up to my ears with stupid mechanics sucking up the little money I have since I am unemployed, I do not drive and bike is my main way of transport. It needs servicing, I don't know too much, just the basics and the stuff I need done is beyond what I can do. I have had rotten luck with bike servicing, most places dont do what I need and when I ask for advice I get none. I just need someone that knows their stuff and to give me advice on that I can do, I used to go to cycle republic in town, loved that place, amazing staff, were always so happy to give advice and generally were helpful but the shop closed almost a year back.

Most recently I went in to get my bike serviced at a place that was recommended and praised by many people, I know that the chain is rubbing against my front derailleur, my front needed truing and my brake pads replaced. Told them all this, was brushed off by the staff and they looked at me like I was clueless. No email or any thing for 2 months, so I went back and they were like 'oh sorry, forgot about your bike, it's in the back, the guy working on it quit' which is just blew me away wtf. So I wait for another month, I get a call that its done, got my bike, did a test lap in front of the place, my brakes howled like crazy (still do), still had chain rub and the trued wheel was ok but I could see that it was still crooked. Went back in asked what the hell I paid money for and they just said that their mechanic 'did his best'. I'll do my best not to kick your teeth in mate. I am not a violent person but I really need this bike and I was already 3 months without it. Turns out that the machinic just tightened a cable to try and stop the chain rub, I could do that though, I asked for it to get fixed or give me advice for what I CAN do. Nope, didn't get anything.

Looking at t he problems my bike has, I think I'll have to replace the whole thing, crack and chains sets, derailleurs etc and I have said that to the mechanic that if that will solve the problems I have then I want that, I just need help and advice on WHICH ONE! I AM DESPRATE FOR SOMEONE TO JUST BE A DECENT HUMAN BEING AND HELP ME! I'm not asking for too much am I??? It doesn't even have to be in Glasgow, if and of you know a place in Edinburgh or any place where I can get by train then PLEASE. I have lost faith in any servicing place I see and not carry a lot of distrust but I just want my baby fixed.
