TitleAm I going overboard on dislike with new neighbours?

We had some neighbours move in across the street and I haven’t been to keen on their behaviour but wondering if I’m just being a touchy arsehole or if it’s justified? Need to add that this has all taken place when restrictions are in place.

It’s a new build estate with a lot of first time buyers. Like a lot of these places a lot of youngish couples but mostly keep themselves to them selves. Nobody has bothered us until now.

The couple across the street have been here a few weeks. It all started last Thursday after the Rangers when game a couple expensively-dressed neds (Balenciaga trainers and the like) came out of the house and drove off. They made a bit of a racket with their braying but only for a minute so I didn’t think much of it other than they were pricks for breaking lockdown.

Yesterday however the same car comes round about noon, playing speeded-up trance music and picks up the guy who lives there. Again a minute of disturbance at most.

Later on at night we hear girls singing in the street. I go upstairs for a nose and see a Union Jack getting waved around in the living room and screeching girls’ voices. A couple of them leave the house in a car waiting to pick them up. I’ll add here that none of the noise was sectarian or bigoted in nature , they were clearly just belatedly celebrating the Rangers title win and the only singing I hear was the girls singing pop songs. Still a bit rank to be waving a Union Jack around but whatever (they also had the curtains drawn but I could still see enough of the flag to know what it was). This whole disturbance was only about 2 minutes until their pals left and then I didn’t hear anything else.

About 11 another girl leaves to get in a taxi then another about 1am. These times I hear it because my window is open but no real grounds to complain other then lockdown-breaking.

Now obviously these people are arseholes for blatantly flouting the rules. They are also arseholes for making a racket but I do need to add that I never heard anything when they were in the house all day, only when their visitors either arrived or left. However if they do this during lockdown how bad could it get in the normal world?

It’s a cul-de sac of 8 houses and will be worse for their neighbours either side, but everyone would be able to hear them clearly when they’re hanging around the front door.
