Title | Opinions on Food Delivery Couriers |

Body | Just wondering what opinions people from Glasgow have on Deliveroo/Ubereats/Justeat couriers. Particularly in and around the city centre. Reason for this is due to my really bad experiences with the Glasgow public since my first day as a courier. I've mostly worked as a cyclist but have also used a motorbike. I always get more hate sent my way when I cycle. My worst experience when cycling was my first month on the job where a white van driver chased me down High street because I stopped at a red light and "held him back" from driving through the amber light. There was also a time where a drunk guy took a penalty kick at my front wheel after I chained my bike up. Prick cost me £20 to have new gear cables put in. I've also received hate as a motorcycle courier My worst experience here was fairly recent where an Argos delivery driver didn't like that I could legally filter through a long queue of traffic so he got road rage and tried to pull me from my bike by grabbing my helmet. I've noticed a slight improvement to my working conditions since I started using an unbranded thermal bag that almost looks like an ordinary bag. But this could also be a result of there being less folks out and about with this pandemic thingy. I also have positive experiences with customers pretty much 100% of the time. Though, who doesn't like the dude that brings food! My bad experiences are usually always from random pedestrians/motorists out in the street or restaurant staff (but we won't go there). Anyway. I'm curious to know what people in Glasgow think of us? Like, hate or indifferent? |
