TitleWhen buses wait forever at one stop, what's the reason for that? They're ahead of schedule or...?

Recently had the displeasure of sitting in the bus at a stop for like 15 minutes. What's the reason for that? My first guess is that they're ahead of schedule, but it was a bus that comes like every 10 mins anyway so can't see how that fits in. I also regularly see two buses come in at the same time, so how does that work? Those drivers just couldn't be arsed waiting around, whereas some can?

Feel like a 5 year old at the moment, but after wondering about this for so long I'm finally ready for answers.
