TitleScamming beggars in City Centre

Maybe I've got a naive face, idk, but twice this past week I've been approached by wasters looking for cash for the stupidest of reasons. Been a few years since it's happened to me previously.

First time was on George St.. Guy approaches me and starts talking about how he lost his card at a local newsagents. Moment I tell him that I have no cash, he acts upset and starts trying to say that he's insulted by the implication and was actually looking for the directions to the nearest hospital. Literally runs away from me whilst I'm trying to tell him how to get to GRI.

Actual scumbag wanting to guilt-trip people into thinking that they might have caused harm to people by misjudging them.

Second time a guy walks up to me and asks if he can get just £1 to replace his earphones with the cheapest possible alternative from the local shop. Tried to be civil with him since I understand that it's difficult to be penniless in Scotland, but the guy literally shouts after me that I must have some coins stashed away in my coat somewhere.

When did this become Glasgow?
