| Body | Ok, was up the barras the other weekend (just passing thru), and boy, what a shadow of its reform self. I think it's been like this for years and I really don't think you can blame covid.
I can just about remember when I was a kid in the 80's my gran used to take me up there all the time, it was busting, couldn't even move due to the number of people.
There is a couple of bars/restaurants in there now - I know that they have had these in different reincarnations.
I do remember in 2001/2002 I said that in 10 to 15 years the barras wouldn't be there, due to the site being on prime real estate, a bit wrong on that...just about.
What do you think should happen to it? its glory days are well gone, it will never be like it used to be of course.
I think they should do the whole place up and turn it into bars and restaurants, a bit like Merchant Square (I know, it's well boring), maybe with some clubs.
Are they guys still there selling knock-off DVDs and fags? |
