Hi all,
I'm a PhD chemist and currently working for a large life science company here in California. I have 2 years of postdoc experience and 1 year of working experience in the industry (current job).
My current work visa in the US is expiring soon and I'm waiting to hear back on my renewal application. There is a chance it will be denied and Scotland is my backup plan as there is currently an open position in Glasgow at the same company I'm working now.
I spoke to the hiring manager and was encouraged to apply. She did ask me about my salary expectations, and while I'm fully aware that it will be dramatically lower than what I'm making now, I have absolutely no idea what is an appropriate salary range for a PhD scientist like myself.
If any of you are in the biotech/pharma industry and have a good grasp on salaries for candidates like me, I'd love to hear what your thoughts are!
