| Body | So I've been renting out a nice flat in the West End with a close mate for the last 2 years. He's moving out soon and I got asked by another friend who's soon moving to Glasgow to take his place. Only thing is, he says he's currently claiming benefits but if he applies for this flat, his cut of the rent (roughly £550 including bills) will be paid to him each month. I'm obviously okay with this but I had a few iffy questions that I felt I couldn't directly ask him. Firstly, is what he said true just because I was under the impression he can't just apply to any old flat of his choice and have that covered? Also, how does this affect our application with the landlord and letting agents? Obviously assuming we will have to update the landlord and letting agents, will they readily be open to accepting applicants claiming benefits? Is there anything else I should know before giving my mate the potential go ahead? Thanks in advance |
