TitleRent increase

Hiya.

My partner and I rented a 2 bed flat for £675 last year smack bang in the middle of lockdown so we got it for a good price anyway but now rent prices on flats seem to be sky-rocketing everywhere in the area and have been for quite a while now.

We’ve been in for over a year and have our first flat inspection coming up so I reckon they’re going to bump the price up a bit which is fine, it’s to be expected. We’ve never rented through a letting agent before so unsure how much they can actually put it up by. Is there any legal limits they can ask for or does anyone know a rough ballpark figure we should expect?

Happy to pay more obviously as thats the way things go but also don’t want the arse ripped out of us and to be left struggling to pay rent when we’re both full time students and happy in our wee home.
