I am a bass player (26 m) based in Glasgow looking to start a punk/garage rock band, initially doing covers and potentially later writing originals. This is a fun project to get me playing more regularly now that things have eased up (I am already in another band but rarely play this sort of music) and to hopefully meet some new folks! This will be a purely casual endeavour to play this sort of music so no pressure, as long as you can comfortably cover tunes you’ll be fine.
I’m looking for a singer, guitarist (x2?) and a drummer. The aim is to play music by the likes of the Dead Kennedy’s, Idles, Bad Brains, Minor Threat, Joy Division, The Cramps, Clash etc. More than happy to take suggestions, this is by no means an exhaustive list. Only thing I’d add is that I’m not a massive fan of pop-punk, so wouldn’t be keen covering those sorts of bands.
I don’t drive so would be looking to practice in the city at one of the rehearsal rooms. Practices would ideally be at the weekend but could do evenings during the week (I work 9-5).
