TitleTenement recess in living room
Authorarchitraveller
Body
Hi all. We're in a southside tenement. The previous owner of our flat destroyed all the architrave/cornicing/border (?) round the recess in the living room and plastered over it, so we've got a weird smooth wall that just sticks out a bit now.

We'd like to "restore" this a bit to a nice floor-to-ceiling bookshelf type of thing that you see fairly often. Would involve knocking a bit of wall through and I suppose fitting that cornicing type of thing.

We are so inexperienced with renovation work and no idea who to phone about this - doesn't seem to fall under the purview of the tradespeople we can imagine. Any recommendations of who might carry out this work? Cheers in advance.
