TitleCompleting on a tenement flat this Friday and I’m FREAKING OUT. Please dispense advise on thing to do and keep in mind just before / just after moving into first own tenement flat.

I’ve never owned my own home before so a lot of this situation is new to me. Also, I don’t have a partner and none of my family live in the UK and none of my pals over here own their own place - so I’ve not really got many options for bouncing my thoughts off people.

The only things I’ve got planned for after moving is getting a sparky in to do electrical test (cause the wiring is ancient), and an asbestos test kit for the artex ceiling. Anything I’m missing? Checking for lead pipes? The flat seems in a good condition otherwise so I think I’ll just take the decoration slowly.

What about non-decoration things to keep in mind around moving to an own place. Introducing yourself to the neighbours? Getting specific information out of the factors?

Just throw advice and assorted thoughts at me please!
