Titlemy resident parking permit expired yesterday

I sent the renewal application but the council hasebt answered yet, so I am right now exposed to be fined. So I am forced to move the car frequently and park at supermarkets often, have anyone been fined fo parking for over 2 hours at retail parkings/supermarket parkings? Thanks in advance
