it's been 4 months since i started applying for 2-bed flats to share with my friend (both 18F) and aaaaarrgh it's not happening so far.
we've had a grand total of one (1) viewing and it was for a place on wallace street; one of my previous flatmates lived there and says it's a shitehole but it is literally the only place that's gotten back to us to organise something.
we've previously only lived in our university's student accommodation which sucked and i hated it so i have really low standards, anywhere with a washing machine where probably neither of us will get stabbed will be a massive upgrade.
i feel like there's a negative stigma against students which i understand, like i said i lived in student acom for a year, but me and my flatmate are so quiet and will not make issues.

i wanted to ask, am i applying for flats in the right way???

ive got email alerts turned on from zoopla for furnished flats under £950pcm (split between the two of us, no idea if thats even the right budget since i cant get a job til im living in glasgow again, no idea what my monthly income will be, and ive never rented before so even less idea what to factor in for utilities) plus a range of one mile from the city centre as we're at strathclyde and if (fingers crossed) lectures start again in september we'll need to travel to and from campus early in the morning every day.
it seems like every time i apply somewhere, even if it's less than an hour since the listing went up, the slots for viewings are all full and the letting agents just don't email me back, and it's so frustrating because its been months !!! sorry this is a rant now but i am so frustrated. also sorry mods if this is off-topic but i do not know where else to ask.

is there anything i can change? are there other areas where you think itd be easier to find somewhere safe within our price range ?
