Due to urgent repairs to the track between Kilmarnock and Barassie all lines are closed. Disruption is expected until the end of the day on 03/07/22.

Train services between Ayr and Kilmarnock have been suspended.

Option 1 - Check if a rail journey is currently possible..

* Use the National Rail Enquiries real-time journey planner to check if you can continue your journey by rail.

Option 2 - Alternative Routes & Local Public Transport..

* If you have had to drive to another station your ticket will be valid to collect your car on your return journey. Speak to a member of staff to validate your ticket.

Option 3 - Rail Replacement Transport..

* There are no services scheduled to run between Ayr and Kilmarnock today, Sunday 26th June, therefore no replacement buses are operating.

Option 4 - Consider travelling later..

* You might wish to consider postponing your journey until our services return to normal.

* The line is closed between Barassie and Kilmarnock due to a sink hole.

* Our response team are working with the coal authority for this area, once full assessment of the site has been carried out a plan will be put in place for repairs, therefore at present we have no estimate for the line reopening.
