| Body | What are folks opinions on the big gigs that happen at Glasgow Green, Bellahouston Park, and Hampden?
My bias is that I stay near Glasgow Green and I get annoyed every year that it's mostly shut off to locals for about six weeks for the benefit of three days and nights.
I've seen Geoff Ellis of DF Concerts say that that trnsmt alone brings in millions to Glasgow's hospitality industry but he would say that wouldn't he? I'm not saying he's lying but I would like to know how that figure was reached.
I am in no way saying that big gigs should not happen at all, or should not happen how they do now. I also get we're experiencing a bit of an increase in frequency post covid rescheduling. Just wondering what 'popular' opinion is. |
