TitleHas anyone had any success in getting council tenants moved?

I’m at my wits end with my neighbour. When I bought my home 3 years ago I was told that he was there temporarily (council tenant in scatter accommodation) but he has now been given the house permanently and I feel that my only option is to sell up and move.

I love my home and my other neighbours but would be so much happier if my neighbour moved or he just behaved in a more considerate way. We live in joined 3-bed semis with a shared garden. We both live alone with dogs.

I don’t want to be overly specific, but there have been ongoing issues with drugs, noise, violence, pet neglect, mess/hygiene, property damage.

I’m just so done with him. I work from home and start at 8am mon-fri, and the noisy late nights, mess and just general daytime noise (he doesn’t work so is home during the day a lot) is really effecting my mental health. I constantly worry about his dogs.

I have complained to the council frequently, phoned the police, the SSPCA, kept a log for months of incidents, and they just say that they’ll speak to him about it. It quietens down for a while then just starts right back up again.

My neighbour doesn’t speak to me anymore because he knows it was me who complained about him. Sharing a garden with him has become almost impossible and as a result I just don’t use it anymore.
