TitleHow often are TransPennine trains from the Central station to Carlisle cancelled or delayed on a weekend?

Planning a trip to Scotland and I’m worried the last train to return home could be cancelled because well it’s TransPennine…What can I do in that case?

Should I just not bother with TransPennine at all? Is Avanti West Coast more reliable?
