TitleAnyone move to the city centre and immediately regret it?

Hi all,

Moved into a flat on George Street in Merchant City at the start of July. Had moved here from Bothwell and was super excited however that excitement quickly turned to regret. The noise in the building alone is unbelievable, people hammering, slamming doors all hours of the night. Junkies going off their nut outside which means windows stay shut at night, constant construction works outside. Not to mention the flat itself is an absolute shithole, the landlord/letting agent covered up a number of issues such as penetrating damp from the toilet coming through into the only wardrobe in the flat, oven door falling off, smell of shite from the kitchen drain, constantly running toilet, etc. I feel like I've been sold a lemon and can't wait to move, only trouble is I'm finding it impossible to find a place with a budget of £750 pcm. Only benefit to the place is I've used 1 m3 of gas so it's super energy efficient, but have a beast of a fridge which uses almost £1 per day in energy 😭

Anyone else ever experience a serious case of renter's remorse in Glasgow? I came here to reduce my commute and make it easier to socialise but now I'm so depressed that I can't be fucked with doing anything 😂
