| Body | Hi, guys. I’m still not in Scotland but I plan to arrive somewhere in the end of August or at the beginning of September. I’m a 19-year old politics student from University of Glasgow. I’m also Ukrainian and have a positive visa decision. My father is a UK citizen but he lives in London, he can be my guarantor. As far as I understand housing situation in Glasgow is really hard. So far I’ve already contacted 15 people on spare room a week ago and I’ve got no replies, not even one. I did the same on gumtree. I’m also searching for one-bedroom flats with a friend to rent it together but as far as I understand it takes quite some time for agencies to arrange it for you and they almost always want UK mobile number which I don’t have yet. All other student accommodation is sold out. I can’t afford expensive options, my budget is limited. I’ve already applied to my university’s accommodation but they’re saying there’s no guarantee that I’ll get a room and it may be too costly for me too. I also have an impression that people distrust giving a room to me because I’m an international student. I wasn’t able to start looking for accomodation earlier because I still hold a conditional offer and my university says they need more time to assess my documentation. I would really appreciate some help here. |
