TitlePanicking over accomodation

I hate to post yet another "I'm a student looking for a flat during a housing crisis" post that I'm sure everyone is sick of by now, but I'm really freaking out right now and need advice. I need to move in seven days and I still don't have a place and I'm honestly really scared. What do I even do if I can't find somewhere to stay? I don't have friends or family and homeless services told me to apply for the welfare fund, which I did and haven't heard back about, so am I just going to be on the streets until further notice? I honestly can't believe this is happening. I've been looking for a flat since April, I've been really on the ball and I think I've done everything right, so I really don't know what to do. It's all "the local authority have an obligation to help you" until you actually ask for help and then they give you some vague advice that doesn't help and tell you to bog off.

If anyone has been in my situation before I would really appreciate advice. Anything would help right now. I'm literally at my wit's end right now.
