TitleIs there much point in trying to fight a rent increase?

This probably isn't a big deal but I've never dealt with a landlord that wanted to increase my rent before so some advice on how to proceed would be appreciated.

Currently living in a flat, paying £475 a month. Got an email from the letting agents (that pretty much act as a go-between for me and the landlord) yesterday saying that they were going to increase my rent to £500 a month from the beginning of December.

Everything is in line with my lease so there's no issue there. There's no reason provided on the notice so I have two ideas as to why they're wanting this:

1: landlords have multiple tenants and they're increasing everybody's rent (why only increase by £25? It won't make much difference at all I'm thinking?)

2: estate agent fees have gone up and they're passing that expense onto me.

I have a pretty good working relationship with the estate agent and the landlord. Everything gets fixed in a timely manner, they gave me permission to adopt my cat, and I've had no issues with paying rent in the almost 2 years I've been here so I think I'm a good tenant for them to have.

With all that in mind, is it really worth me fighting this increase? I can afford it now and my wages won't be going down at any point, but my main worry is that this will open the floodgates for more increases and eventually I'll be priced out of here and will have to move which is absolutely the last thing I want right now. But I'm aware that it's not advised (or maybe not legal?) To increase a tenant's rent more than once every 12 months.

Grateful for any input before I go to citizen's advice. Cheers pals. :)
