TitleDamp in rental

Looking for a little advice.

I rent in Glasgow with the wife and an infant.

The flat has pretty bad damp which the landlord acknowledges. I'm aware this is an expensive and obtrusive issue to rectify so I asked if they would provide a dehumidifier. They refused.

So not only do I have to buy this but also pay for the energy as well. During a cost of living crisis.

Does the landlord not have a duty to try to fix this matter?

I'm hesitant to kick up a fuss as I don't want to be thrown out with a young family but this guy is taking the fucking piss no?

Any advice welcome.
