Looking in the Glasgow area for some who knows fashion technology or has seamstress skills to hopefully partner up with to help work on a small collection of fashion items.
This is for a new brand I am hoping to start soon, however my own sewing skills aren't that great and I would love to partner up with someone who shares the same ethical values for fashion. The brand is going to be focused around circular economy and zero waste fashion, also highlighting the issues within the current fashion industry via the designs.
Obviously this will be for when lock down is over and things are regarded as safer as they are just now, however I'd love to use this time to hopefully get to know anyone who is interested and be able to fully discuss the ideas and what it is I'm hoping to achieve.
I'm about to finish my 4th year of design for textiles (specialising in woven textiles) and as part of my course I had to do marketing research, ethics in design, consumer analysis and branding. I'm working on a business plan and have already worked out an action plan for once this is over to hopefully guarantee some start up funding and get this set up as it's the only way I can see myself working guilt free within the industry.
If interested I'm more than happy to discuss ideas further and also rate of pay, as I don't believe in designing for low cost or free, especially when I admire the skill that goes into it.
