  • As a self employed individual, I’m unable to claim for the shirts, trousers etc I require for client meetings. I’d also like my toenails done but money is tight. It’s difficult to see, given the city wide cuts, how this cannot be seen as heavily hypocritical and we really need a rework of what can be claimed on expenses. The level of misspending in this city is disgusting. by biggie888 (Tue 8th Oct 2019 11:58am)
  • I was in a big loop with the doctors for months. Unfortunately, you need to be difficult to deal with in order to progress. Make sure to outline how much the pain is effecting your day to day life. I'm surprised the dental hospital is focusing purely on covid patients. You can go private and prob be seen today. Private dentists aren't under the same restrictions believe it or not. by biggie888 (Mon 16th Nov 2020 2:14pm)
  • We need a better way of managing our communities. So many folk don't give a shit and expect their neighbours or the council to take care of it. by biggie888 (Fri 4th Dec 2020 10:57am)
  • It's something you could do yourself but a professional will make things far better visually and provide better soundproofing performance. We're going to get some acoustic boarding in next year as we only need a light level of soundproofing. Some more advanced methods use panelling and insulation etc to get the right solution. by biggie888 (Thu 10th Dec 2020 1:43pm)
  • I don’t agree with many of the restrictions and particularly how they’ve been managed. However, two wrongs don’t make a right and social distancing is key to getting through this. You are unlikely to be able to achieve this when protesting. I would engage with your local counsellor/msps/mps and outline your thoughts rather than protest. by biggie888 (Sun 13th Dec 2020 10:50am)
  • Yes, individual Liberty is a precious commodity. However, marking yourself as a martyr won’t do any good for you & potentially your health. And importantly, how effective is a protest really going to be? SNP, con, labour etc only care about staying in power. Make a lot of noise, get your neighbours to do the same, get a counsellor / msp on your side And build from there. Change takes hard work. Not a wee afternoon out. by biggie888 (Sun 13th Dec 2020 12:42pm)
  • I don’t think it’s suspicious, we’ve witnessed every protest the green and the anti lockdown protests had pretty much evaporated to sparse numbers. I think the lack of effect they were having as well as being branded by derogatory terms by the press/politicians didn’t help the cause either. I can guarantee that you and your neighbours will overlap politically. They’ll be pro liberty on some aspects but unlikely you’ll connect with them using those labels. Don’t engage with people on absolutes and the abstract, talk about real concerns which will be more relatable. Eg isn’t it shite the council don’t empty the bins, wouldn’t it be good if we were able hold them more accountable. by biggie888 (Sun 13th Dec 2020 3:16pm)
  • If you’re concerned, do something useful rather than standing about in the rain with soggy signs mate. It doesn’t matter how lockdown affects me. I’m prescribing how you have an impact. by biggie888 (Sun 13th Dec 2020 6:00pm)
  • No but I’ll introduce you to a zebra with no stripes by biggie888 (Mon 14th Dec 2020 9:59am)
  • Isn’t this article last year’s figures? I share your sentiment though. The covid situ is going to have a massive impact on mental health and it’ll affect the poor folk who are hooked and in deprived areas even more. I believe that we should look towards Portugal for inspiration on how to manage drug deaths. by biggie888 (Wed 16th Dec 2020 10:09am)
  • Agree. Bad times. by biggie888 (Wed 16th Dec 2020 11:18am)
  • You don’t talk like a charity by biggie888 (Wed 16th Dec 2020 11:22am)
  • Either can I. It’s not on the oscr by biggie888 (Wed 16th Dec 2020 11:21am)
  • Inclusive language. Have worked with a number of charities and they’d never be so divisive in their PR efforts. I understand you want to accomplish something good but cutting off what 15-20% of your potential donors isn’t exactly going to help achieve your goals. by biggie888 (Wed 16th Dec 2020 11:42am)
  • Or not mentioned Tory removal at all. You’re trying to do good here, not win political points. Is it a charity or a political vessel. Anyway, I’ve said my point. I’m sure it wasn’t as venomous a comment as you intended. I’d recommend adding key info to your website’s footer - OSCR number and perhaps changing the reg. address to your accountants office until the premises are open. by biggie888 (Wed 16th Dec 2020 11:49am)
  • You should try writing a letter, that you don’t send, as a mental exercise. Write about how the people are acting and how you feel about it. Bit of a rage typing can help you process it. PM me if you want to ask me more by biggie888 (Mon 25th Jan 2021 2:31pm)
  • Go through your MSP or local councillor. Demand better, or at least functional. by biggie888 (Mon 15th Feb 2021 6:41pm)
  • - install bins that are easier to empty. Dog poo cage things in the park take council workers an age to empty - w larger parks at night. This weekend the green will be trashed again. - having adequately sized recycling points - when the house bins don’t get emptied, people use the neighbourhood ones which in turn overflow and the trash goes to the street. A better contingency plan is needed. - online requests for brown bin and glass bin to be emptied rather than scheduled. Not used by enough folk to require a route IMO. - having educational signage at every entrance: pick it up f* wit. - commercial bags just get destroyed by the seagulls. End of story. Better solution needed. - better tracking of cases. Cases are closed when they aren’t actioned. Feels like a black hole. - overnight emptying of bins etc in main parks. by biggie888 (Sat 20th Mar 2021 11:24am)
  • I have never lived anywhere which had such an apathetic, incompetent and unwilling council. by biggie888 (Mon 22nd Mar 2021 7:30pm)
  • I’m sure we are all p*ssed with GCC for a number of issues. However, this person in the video has done an extraordinary thing and even has me out picking up litter now. Leading by example - brilliant stuff. by biggie888 (Fri 26th Mar 2021 1:08pm)
  • Councils upped the resourcing, finally, but away from parks the streets are a shit hole. Where we stay seems to have inherited a fresh layer of rubbish. by biggie888 (Mon 5th Apr 2021 1:11pm)
  • Glasgow’s rubbish problem is everywhere. We’ve reported several *blocks* worth of land covered in rubbish near us. Nothing has happened in 6 months and the local Thatcher worshipper was the only councillor that would help and even he can’t get them to do anything. It took the council months followed by councillor intervention to clean up an overflowing recycling point. And this is on the narrow focus of waste management. Interacting with the council in any form, even online or via the app, is so painful. The tech sucks, the people are apathetic, and those in charge look to bury their heads in the sand. by biggie888 (Mon 5th Apr 2021 9:54pm)
  • You're going to struggle to get a lender to lend to you above a takeaway or a pub, I'm afraid. We had a fair whack of a deposit and even then it made no difference. Even if a lender agrees, they'll send their own surveyor out and that's potentially more hoops to jump through. Looking forward....It'll be ok to rent out but selling it will be a long, drawn out afraid. If it's the right price and in the right area, you'll get cash buyers I'd imagine but it'll take away a fair bit of your potential buyers. by biggie888 (Thu 8th Apr 2021 1:50pm)
  • You get what you keep voting for. The current strategy from GCC is working soooooo well by biggie888 (Wed 23rd Jun 2021 8:55am)
  • Congrats on the new home. Buying houses sucks. I'd disagree with some of your comments. The current frenzy is being driven my a lack of stock, typically folk defaulting on mortgages would lead to a regular replenishment of investment properties - i.e to flip or to improve then rent. So, investors and home owners are fighting over the same scarce resource and why people are being priced out of the market by cash buyers left, right and centre. by biggie888 (Wed 14th Jul 2021 8:25am)
