  • So what's the story? Something to do with St. Mungo (Spelling?) right? by turbo_triforce (Sat 29th Feb 2020 11:28am)
  • Thanks for the answer. Sounds like this Mungo lad was alright. by turbo_triforce (Sat 29th Feb 2020 1:09pm)

  • Could you request soundproofing from the charity? Is it just during the day? by turbo_triforce (Sat 2nd May 2020 9:23am)
  • [.Gov Website](https://www.gov.uk/guidance/noise-nuisances-how-councils-deal-with-complaints) on the issue seems you are totally within reason to file a complaint. This is impacting your parents wellbeing and health. Of course you are best contacting the organization directly in good faith (record everything). It seems soundproofing is not a method of compromise in this situation. While the wellbeing of the child is important, it shouldn't be at the expense of the welbeing of others. Getting started with the process earlier will allow for a quicker resettlement of the child. Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer, r/uklegaladvice should be more helpful. by turbo_triforce (Sat 2nd May 2020 9:47am)
  • Well they moved in and that's that. But it does add evidence to your case that people were relectant with the move. At this point, you kind of have to get your neighbours on board via the noise complaint route. I am unaware of the charity's workings, but having worked for a social/community healthcare team in NL I can see restablishing the child to be difficult but not outwith thier control. Disclaimer: Not a lawyer. And I understand your concerns as an NHS employee. Myself am involved in Healthcare, but in this case you have to think of everyone's wellbeing as well. by turbo_triforce (Sat 2nd May 2020 10:26am)
  • I appreciate your empathy and I agree with your approach to resolve it in good faith first. However, you have to consider the neighbours wellbeing as well. The surrounding neighbours are also impacted. This also considering that the parents are in thier 70s and are also a vulnerable group. You can't impact the welbeing of them for the sake of a one child, when they're other solutions on the table: from re-homement to therapy (I am not sure of the person's impairement) to visits to a park to a change in the child's stimulation. There is a solution to this but simply putting up with it is not the way forward. by turbo_triforce (Sat 2nd May 2020 11:09am)
  • Now you're being disingenious. No one is expecting total peace and quite, just a reasonable amount. Long term health and mental effects can be the result of excessive noise, hence why they're rules in place. by turbo_triforce (Sat 2nd May 2020 1:50pm)
  • This x1000. I am a roadie and the disregard for cyclist lives is shocking. I have been hit twice. The infrastructure is just as bad. Cars love to park cycle lanes and those lanes often randomly stop are lead onto the pavement as shared lanes. and the potholes... by turbo_triforce (Fri 15th May 2020 9:29am)
  • I wouldn't go less pretentious to describe a pizza joint, but I'll back you up on Baffo being the best. 1)Baffo 2)Pizza Punks 3)Paesono for a close third. Feel free to mention any other places to try! by turbo_triforce (Fri 15th May 2020 8:05pm)
  • Ironically soggy pizza is my issue with Paesanos! Respect for your opinion though. by turbo_triforce (Fri 15th May 2020 8:37pm)

  • Private Flats. They are cheaper and you don'y have to deal with a metric ton of messy students. If you're loud and crazy days are still with you than go with student accomedation. by turbo_triforce (Wed 20th May 2020 9:08am)
  • Mate, I means its a city. Flats are everywhere. I'd look at Gumtree, spareroom and private letting agents. Just look up what agents to avoid, and call around. Spareroom would be easiest atm. by turbo_triforce (Wed 20th May 2020 9:43am)
  • No, honestly, its me. I thought you were messing about. But you mean area? Alright. Near UofG, you have the West End:Anderston, Partick, Hillhead, Finnieston, Hyndland etc..all quite nice. The area is west of the M8/Charing Cross the motorway that splits Glasgow. Near UofS you are in the city centre, merchant city or the east end: Dennistoun, Parkhead (I'd avoid because of the football fans), Bridgeton etc...The East end is traditionally a more improvished area but that has rapidly changed. The Southside is also a option if you are willing to commute. Shawlands is a good shout. Good luck! by turbo_triforce (Wed 20th May 2020 9:59am)

  • OP, not to be rude, but are you serious? I can't imagine a poster doing any damage. by turbo_triforce (Mon 15th Jun 2020 11:43am)
  • Ah alright. I would take a picture then just remove it. They cannot place that on public property, anyways. It might be worthwhile sending an email about it, but I doubt they'd be chasing you for a poster. by turbo_triforce (Mon 15th Jun 2020 11:53am)
  • DELETED >Had there been anyone there who was affiliated with the BLM or Antifa movements I would have gladly stood alongside them As a member of the press, I would expect some sort of non-partisanship from Tommy. This statement throws up some seriously legitimacy claims to the story. I also wonder why a press member would be apart of a group that wants to enforce mob justice on public property. > I move quickly and with purpose; I know which combo of punches I'm going to throw to start, and I'm excited Sounds like he was there spoiling for a fight I do not like that someone with a clear agenda was there spoiling for a fight under the cover of the press. I am no fan of those statue defenders and I am sure my political views are greatly different to them, but you cannot have mob justice. There is little legitimacy in pulling down a statue without some sort of a democratic process. As for those statue defenders, arrests should be made appropriately. It is not their job to enforce "justice", or enact violence/abuse. by turbo_triforce (Mon 15th Jun 2020 1:03pm)
  • Aye, except I didn't say that. by turbo_triforce (Mon 15th Jun 2020 1:41pm)
  • \> The point he was making was 'I wouldn't have felt threatened around the BLM/Antifa people' If that was his intention, I would agree that it was fair, but "stood alongside" makes it sound like he is affiliated in one camp. No doubt he was provoked, but to be planning out combos and to be excited for it. It doesn't sound good to me. Glad he made it out safe. by turbo_triforce (Mon 15th Jun 2020 1:47pm)
  • I literally said "As for those statue defenders, arrests should be made appropriately. It is not their job to enforce "justice", or enact violence/abuse ". by turbo_triforce (Mon 15th Jun 2020 1:52pm)
  • No doubt he was provoked, but to be "excited" for it. Its not a good look. I myself have never been thrilled to defend myself. by turbo_triforce (Mon 15th Jun 2020 1:50pm)
  • Ok then let me make it clear: Behaviour of the statue "defenders" was shocking, and members of peaceful protests (such as BLM) should not be met with violence. You've heard it direct from the horses mouth and there is no need to read between the lines for context. by turbo_triforce (Mon 15th Jun 2020 1:59pm)
  • Yea I have been in a fight. Wouldn't say I was "thrilled" or "excited" by having to defend myself. by turbo_triforce (Mon 15th Jun 2020 2:04pm)
  • No doubt, but to be excited for it and planning out combos? Its not a good look. by turbo_triforce (Mon 15th Jun 2020 2:00pm)
  • I can see where you're coming from. It just sounded to me like he was being a bit of an instigator. The whole standing alongside "antifa" (a group known for violence) thing kind of struck me wrong. Aye but regardless of your views, he shouldn't have been abused like that. by turbo_triforce (Mon 15th Jun 2020 2:13pm)
  • > these were not the same insults or threats I'd heard as part of the press gang Direct from the source by turbo_triforce (Mon 15th Jun 2020 3:07pm)

  • 8 years ago, I got harassed by a NED that suffered from dwarfism. The wee guy pelted stones at me as I was cycling by in lycra on a training ride with my glasgow uni pals. Probably in an attempt to look hard in front of his other NED mates. Cut forward to just before lockdown. I see the same fella in a suit and tie with a Morgan Stanley ID on a lancet around his neck and I am back at uni as a student. The moral of the story: the fuck I know. That's just my experience with neds. by turbo_triforce (Wed 30th Sep 2020 5:33pm)
