depends on where you're looking - sure, central Bristol is pricey but there's plenty of areas that aren't that expensive - renting in Fishponds, for example, is about the same kind of price range as the southside of Glasgow, and a similar demographic

by 'cheap' I mean relative to pretty much anywhere else in the south of England, and the ratio of wages to rent is about the same in Bristol as it is in Glasgow, so you get a similar quality of life
