Here are your mistakes to avoid in the future:
1. Locking your bike up in the landing. Plenty of space in the bike racks in the garage. Also it's technically not allowed to keep em in the landing. Fire safety fascists n all.
2. Using a bike chain in a famously dodgy area. Get a £20 kryptonite U-lock if your bike is valued any higher than that.
