/u/zdmz I don't understand people telling you not to tip. Yes, it is at your discretion, and you won't have an angry waiter chasing you down the street, but it is generally expected and polite to tip people such as restaurant and bar staff, taxi drivers and hairdressers, for example (if you are happy with the service). You wouldn't, however, tip a someone behind a counter such as cinema or shop staff.
