And do what? Buy a Tesla? The technology is not at the point that EV can be an alternative to ICE cars. This will happen as technology is rapidly improving and prices are coming down but it will take at least another 10 to 15 years for EV to replace ICE cars (with optimistic estimate).

??? Are you serious? You know what is the aviation contribution to global CO2 emission? 2%. Thats it. By doing what you suggested, you would cause collapse of aviation industry in UK, took away people jobs and decrease tax income to the budget. This is crazy idea. Deliveries of fresh produce from Africa to the UK alone supports the livehoods of 1.5 million people, while producing less CO2 than similar produce grown in the UK, despite the energy used in transport.
