But if getting grades is easier then more people have them which means you stand out less if you have them. Instead of the top 30% going to uni it's the top 60% and suddenly you've got a workforce full of qualified people who think they should be in "good jobs" as they've got a degree but not enough degree level jobs to take them all.

Improving education is a good thing but just gaming the system to make more people get grades doesn't make anything better except the pass rate statistics.
