I'm an Irish nationalist living in Glasgow. I might be guilty of special pleading, but I think Irish nationalism and Scottish nationalism differ from Engish nationalism in one key area - neither are predicated on superiority, but rather a demand for self-determination. At their core, both strains of nationalism would like England to govern its own affairs and only its own affairs, leaving us to do the same.

Unsurprisingly, I voted for the SNP. I normally vote Sinn Fein, but they don't field candidates in Glasgow South (har har). Nobody voting for the SNP is ambivalent about its indy aspirations either, so it means there's clear appetite for independence, by extension.

Which could point to an end game for the union. And the DUP and Cameron and eurosceptic tories and English nationalists will all have played a key role in its collapse.

And that, my friends, is beautiful.
