They're currently the last example of a good rail franchise in Europe, the terrible punctuality of Deutsche Bahn is currently a big issue over there. All 3 times I've taken German trains in the past year I've been horrifically late - last time my train was *6 hours* behind schedule, for a 2 hour trip.
