The point is that a lot of gobshites want to do it. I definitely think the number of them should be greatly reduced but I struggle to justify outright banning it from ever happening - just because I don't like it doesn't mean it should be banned is pretty much my thinking. If a large group of people want to march for whatever shite they want to march for I don't think the local council should be the ones to decide what's acceptable and what isn't - as long as they're within the laws of the land (so they can't openly be a hate parade but just behind the surface as it is now) then they get the same treatment as pride or whatever else. But just like pride or whatever else it should be a once a year thing or some frequency along those lines - even for stuff I like I'd be pissed off if they were at it constantly never mind this archaic sectarian pish. Give them their day if they need it but that's it give them a day and no more. |
