I checked out your map: you might be interested in walking along the canals. They are interesting from an industrial history/engineering POV, but also are cool green corridors through the north of the city (including many very deprives areas). If you are lucky, you can see kingfishers, deer, swans, ducks, mergansers and other wildlife. The canal goes through Possil, which can be a wee bit rough, but I cycled along it two times a day for 2 years, and I never had any trouble.
