This is a bit late, but just for your personal Glasgow lore:

The Uni of Glasgow opened in 1451 but not where it's currently at. The iconic Gilmorehill building is an 1870 construction.

The original 1460 campus was on the west side of high street and was torn down to make room for a freight railway station.
