> In reality, all efforts to create communist societies decline into these situations you reference above because it simply isn’t compatible with human nature

I agree with the human nature incompatibility part which is what I was getting at when I said it's nice in theory but infeasible in practice but I'm not sure the big famous efforts to "create communist societies" really were that at least not by those who took hold of those movements and eventually lead them. I'm not an expert on this topic and while I think "true communism" and human nature might be incompatible I also don't think we've ever seen a serious effort to make true communism at least by those in the power to do it (many of their early supporters may have actually wanted it). Stalinism and true communism are miles apart. Modern day China call themselves communist but tons of experts will tell you their economic policy is primarily capitalist despite their claims. Almost everything we have seen that is "communist" is communist in name only - maybe it started out as a real communist movement but they all lost their way. I guess the question is did they lose it because human nature means it's impossible to even implement real communism on a big scale for a little while or did they lose it because the people who got into power took things in their own directions that benefitted them and their buddies. Maybe the reality is a mix of the two.

> Not that there’s nothing wrong with capitalism btw. It is far from perfect too, but far, FAR preferable to communism

Aye capitalism is fucked up in many ways with all sorts of problems in it but it's proven to be the best we can make work so far (at least, modified versions of it - outright unrestricted capitalism not so much). Hopefully we can figure out something else or further refinements and adaptations to capitalism to improve it's problems.
